Growing up as a child, I was a slim, tall, leggy beauty! I was the girl everyone wanted to be friends with. Most guys would lie to their friends I was their girlfriend. Cars would follow me home from the bus stop and my Grandmother (God rest her soul) would haul all the insults at me for walking provocatively on the street. I’d argue with her it’s what my job ethics called for as I was a top model with Modela Agency and the street is our runway most times. Arguments would end on a slap note for talking back at her or keeping mute on her! Parents!!! You are never right with them.
How I miss you Alhaja
Everyone admired me and would shout “hot stepper” when I walk. But this hot stepper had one pain she nursed in her heart- my facial marks. I felt it was a hinderance for me being a beauty queen, being a super model, being a flawless model! Each year, Uncle B, Modela, would prepare me for the big stage and I’d chicken out last minute for fear of my “flaw”. The only person I shared this with was my other self when I looked in the mirror. I would spend minutes wishing I know the old man who marked my face and question my parents why it had to be me of all my siblings…. Fast forward many years later, I realized the only person who stopped me from achieving my goals as a would be beauty queen was myself. My self esteem was so low I supressed myself on many frontier… maybe I’d have been the first beauty queen with facial marks
It’s ironic how people wanna be you and all you see about yourself is a chubby face or a flabby belly. Not so cool. We need to constantly see beyond our supposed flaws, they are all in our heads. If you do not feel beautiful skin deep, you can’t feel beautiful on the inside. No one can love you than you. If you like kill yourself in the quest of looking “perfect” because of a man or a woman, you will still see yourself like a bag of poo on the inside. For true perfection is inside out and it’s a place only you can find.
Would I remove my facial marks today? Hell NO! I love how artistic they look Moreso I need no one’s validation to feel beautiful or live life. You like me, Thank you. You don’t like me, I don’t expect everyone to.
Popular Nigerian singer, Banky W has been signed by the hail-cab service provider UBER as their brand ambassador in Nigeria. He will be the first Nigerian celebrity to be accorded such honour.
The obviously excited entrepreneur took to his Instagram page to make the announcement.
Banky W wrote:
One of my favourite quotes is the one that says: “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a meal. Teach a man to fish and you’ve fed him for life.” I believe very strongly in putting the people around me in a position to be more successful.
My driver is an awesome guy.. and I wanted him to be able to earn more than just his salary & tips, so I got a small car and we put it on Uber, that way instead of him sitting around all day waiting for me while I’m in the studio, office, or on set, he can hit the road and generate income for us.. and then we split it at the end of the month.
It’s worked so well that I am now really hoping to continue to do this for more of the young people around me, as God gives me grace.
I’m so excited and honoured to be @ubernigeria’s first Brand Ambassador. I genuinely love the service and I’ve been an avid rider for years – the convenience of it just made my life so much easier, home and abroad.
I also love that it helps create employment for young people.. and I want to encourage more car owners, if they can, to use the service as a way to help more people around them and earn money on the side at the same time. And even if all you ever do is use an Uber as your designated driver when you’re out having drinks.. it makes too much sense. You should just #BankOnUber. I am, and I do ♂️ #brandambassador
Actress and single mum of two, Iyabo Ojo narrowly escaped death after recently embarking on a buttocks enlargement surgery.
According to report, she fell into a five day coma after having the buttocks enlargement surgery in Turkey.
Kemi Ashefon reports it thus:
“Of a petite frame, she almost lost her life in faraway Turkey, where she quickly went for the birthday party of one of her colleagues but later must have decided to have a ‘bum bum’ surgery.
“What we knew was that she and her colleague, who is also a very good friend of hers, had gone to Istanbul Turkey for a party organized by one of their male fans for them. That was in February 2018 and they had a nice time. She flooded her social media handles with photos of the Turkey shindig,” a source revealed.
“Just before she returned to Nigeria , she must have decided to have a cosmetic surgery in Istanbul. For a body enhancement surgery, you would assume it was harmless and less complicated. But after the surgery, this actress was said to have fallen into coma for five days!”
It was gathered that her friend who escorted her to the country was hysteric.
The popular actress, who has featured in many Yoruba films and now appears in some English movies was almost presumed death until she came to and recuperated.
Though back now to Nigeria, she has soft-pedalled on activities.”
Singer Runtown may be spending sometime in jail following the relase of a sex tape featuring him and an unidentified lady.
Reports have it that Runtown may be the one behind the leak itself.
The singer who has been in a legal battle with label Eric Many, has been banned from
performing at shows until he pays his debt to the label.
The label following the release of the sex tape did their investigations and found out
Runtown is behind the leak.
Via a statement released by the label, they addressed the issue writing;
‘Preliminary findings have revealed that the released sex tape and Whatsapp chat purportedly leaked by Runtown’s label is totally fake and a badly executed stunt by the artist himself. Investigations have led to the capture of a suspect (name withheld) who confessed to using a fake Instagram account to spread the false sex tape leak on
‘We have maintained from the beginning of this saga that Eric Many has a verifiable court
injunction against Runtown and we’ll not resort to blackmail or cheap social media stunts as we believe in the rule of law. Investigations are on-going as regards the leaked sex tape story and we’ll let the law take its full course’ the statement said.
On the outcome of the investigation, Eric Many General Manager Johnson Adumike said;
‘Ericmany has been vindicated but we refuse to be drawn into media war with Runtown who the label made and will therefore not destroy. ‘Moreover, trying to use a sex tape to black mail Runtown is just like using a bottle of whisky to blackmail a drunk’ a former Ericmany staff who is very close to the singer said.
