Naija Gunners, an association of Arsenal fans in Nigeria has called on all supporters of the club in the country to come out en masse and cheer Arsenal Beach Soccer team to victory as they begin campaign in this year’s Copa Lagos 2017 at the Eko Atlantic City on Friday, NationSport reports.

President of the association, Wole Oladunjoye made the call during an interactive session involving the association and the Arsenal Beach Soccer team at the Eko Hotels in Lagos on Thursday.

Arsenal will begin their campaign today against Kebbi Beach Soccer team, take on Pepsi Football Academy on Saturday before slugging out with Gidi Sharks on Sunday and Oladunjoye believes it is time for Gunners fans in the country to show support to the team.

“For us at Naija Gunners, it is the passion that we have for Arsenal that makes us go out of our way to support the club and we’ve been doing that for over a decade now.

“I’m calling on every single Arsenal supporter out there; this is the time to rally round show that we support that one club, the only club that plays organic football.“For the beach soccer team, in every match you will play here, we will be right behind you because we want you to win all your matches.

In his response, captain of Arsenal Beach Soccer team, Aaron Clarke said the team is poised to cart home the trophy.

“Some of us played for England in 2015, so we know what to expect from this tournament. Personally, this is my favourite tournament, the fans are fantastic and I am very excited with the support you are going to give us. You can expect the best from us. We are going to play spectacular beach soccer, we will move the ball quickly and be exciting. We expect you behind us and I’m looking forward to see you guys. We hope to return to England with the trophy” Clarke stated.
